People hear “intermediate” and panic - don’t. This course is for anyone who’s ever centered a pot and thought, “Okay... now what?” We’ll help you level up your throwing and handbuilding skills, explore new surface techniques, and start making pieces that actually match the vision in your head.

In this course, you’ll:

• Enhance your wheel-throwing skills, learning how to throw without a wobble or create larger and more complex forms like pouring vessels, lidded jars, closed forms and teapots with precision.
• Refine your handbuilding techniques, including complex joining techniques, mastering slab work, and coiling techniques, or creating sculptural forms that push creative boundaries. 
• Experiment with glazing and surface decoration, to achieve stunning finishes, including slip trailing, sgraffito, and multi-layered glazing for unique finishes.
• Learn finishing techniques to perfect edges, trim neatly, and smooth edges and bottoms to achieve refined, polished pieces. 
• Develop an eye for design and detail, with lessons on proportion, balance, and finishing touches that elevate your work.

Expect hands-on lessons, one-on-one guidance, and a flexible approach that grows with you. Whether you’re dreaming of sculptural pieces, better bowls, or a whole matching dinner set, we’ve got you! 

1 Sleeve of Clay, glazes and firings are included in the class price.

Terms and Conditions

• Classes are for adults ages 18+.
• All courses are non-refundable.
• We require at least two week advance notice to reschedule a course, regardless of the date of booking.
• There are no partial refunds for missed classes.
• By being a student at our studio, you acknowledge and accept that your work may be photographed by our team (read more about our photography policy in Section 11 of our Terms of Service).

Make-up Sessions 

• We will try to accommodate one makeup class per session, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance. However we may not always be able to do so.
• For missed classes in the last three weeks, rescheduling will not be possible due to firing and finishing requirements.
• Note that new work can't be started after the second-last class (unless you are registered for the following session).
• We are unable to roll over make-up classes into the next session.
