Instructor: Mimi He

In this exclusive 5-week course, artist Mimi He shares her personal techniques for building large-scale sculptural ceramic forms—including tables, stools, and composite constructions you won’t believe are made of clay! 

You’ll Learn How To:

• Build big using handbuilding and wheel techniques.
• Minimize cracking in large forms.
• Plan and assemble complex pieces.
• Use the spray booth for surface finishing.
  

What You'll Make:

• A large sculptural piece up to 23" tall x 18" wide.
• Choose from tables, stools, or your own large-scale creation.
• Approx. 15 kg of clay provided (1.5 sleeves).
• Bisque firing included (glaze sessions booked separately for an additional fee).

Class Structure 

• Week 1: Demo & slideshow presentation (with time to brainstorm ideas) 
• Weeks 2–5: Hands-on Making Sessions

*Best suited for students with some pottery experience. 

Terms and Conditions:

• Classes are for adults ages 18+
• All courses are non-refundable
• We require at least two week advance notice to reschedule a course, regardless of the date of booking
• Classes cannot be rescheduled and there will be no make-up classes
• Independent Studio Time can be booked to make up class hours missed 
• There are no partial refunds for missed classes
• Cracking and breaking are a natural part of the pottery process, especially when learning. Every potter experiences it, and over time, as you refine your techniques, your pieces will become more durable. Embrace the process—it's all part of the journey!
