So you’ve made mugs. Maybe bowls. Maybe a bust of your ex... Now it’s time for lamps. Real, plug-in, working ones.

In this electric 2-day workshop, ceramic artist Hannah Faas lights the way teaching you how to create bold, functional lamps from clay.

You’ll Learn How To:

  • Build sculptural ceramic lamp bases
  • Explore Hannah’s unique surface design methods (beyond glazes!)
  • Explore Hannah’s method for mixing and tracking glaze colours
  • Apply glitter finishes and liquid gold leaf
  • Learn how to assemble a working light fixture into your piece

What You’ll Make:

  • One large lamp or two smaller lamps (yes, it will actually light up!)
  • Bisque firing included (glaze sessions can be booked separately for an additional fee of $50 +HST)

Class Structure:

  • Day 1: Building Demo, Start Sculpting
  • Day 2: Finish Building, Glaze Demo, Alternative Finishes, Lamp Assembly Demo

*Hardware recommendations and links will be shared in class.

*Best suited for potters with some handbuilding experience.

  • Classes are for adults ages 18+
  • All courses are non-refundable
  • We require at least two week advance notice to swap a course, regardless of the date of booking
  • No make-up classes
  • Independent Studio Time can be booked to make up class hours missed 
  • There are no partial refunds for missed classes
  • Cracking and breaking are a natural part of the pottery process, especially when learning. Every potter experiences it, and over time, as you refine your techniques, your pieces will become more durable. Embrace the process—it's all part of the journey!
