So, you’ve nailed the basics on the wheel - wedging, centering, pulling that perfect 6” cylinder - but something’s missing... Do your mugs feel a bit predictable? Maybe your vases could use a bit of pizzazz? Or are you stuck in a creative slump?
Enter Ben. He’s bringing texture, movement, “airyness,” and spontaneous patterns to your pots through live demos, hands-on assignments, and one-on-one guidance. You’ll see exactly how he adds life to his forms and get to try it all for yourself.
Your workshop includes the following:
Artist Talk | May 8, 2026 | 7:00pm - 9:00pm ish
Ben shares his work and process through his artist talk, and you’ll see his techniques come to life through live demos.
Two-Day Workshop | May 9 - 10, 2026 | 10:00am - 4:00pm
Want more than just a taste? Stay the weekend. You’ll dive into demos, assignments, and one-on-one guidance with Ben, putting everything into practice with him at your side. Walk away with pieces that that feel spontaneous and full of new energy. Firing is optional for an additional fee.
Bio:
For more than 25 years now, Ben Eberle continues his pursuit of vessel-based, functional ceramics in the Hilltowns of western Massachusetts. Receiving a BA in Writing in 2003 at Skidmore College, Eberle continued on to apprentice for Toshiko Takaezu upon graduating. After working in Boston for a year, he went to San Jose State University for his MFA, finishing in 2008. Residing in Conway, MA now, Ben hosts group firings at his "Karma Kiln" - a wood-fired soda kiln - teaches workshops, fires kilns, and spreads his pots all over the U.S as much as possible.
