Try something fun and new on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday evening! Ages 13+ are welcome to this class.

One of our awesome pottery teachers will demonstrate the pottery wheel throwing process when you get here, then you'll use the 2 hours to learn how to throw pots on the wheel!

After your 2 hours on the wheel, you'll be shown the wheel clean-up method and tidy up your space before heading out for the rest of your evening.

This class is all about the experience! We'll handle the firing and glazing process, ensuring your creations are professionally finished. We will glaze and fire 1 piece for you in a clear, food-safe glaze.

Important Details:

  • We recommend bringing an apron and a small hand towel.
  • Please ensure prompt arrival for the scheduled class time. The demonstration will not be repeated.
  • The last 20-30 minutes of class are dedicated to cleaning up.
  • Your pieces will be ready for pickup 4 weeks after the class. We will hold your pieces for 1 month after your pick-up date.
  • Please note that the studio does not assume responsibility for cracked or damaged pieces, acknowledging that some imperfections such cracks are natural occurrences during the ceramic process
  • By being a student at our studio, you acknowledge and accept that your work may be photographed by our team (read more about our photography policy in Section 11 of our Terms of Service)

You could’ve taken a class anywhere. You chose us. That means a lot and we don’t take it for granted. As a small team, we’ve built our policies to make sure we can keep offering the kind of experience you signed up for, while keeping things fair behind the scenes.

Our Clay Commandments

Refund Policy

All classes and workshops are non-refundable. If we need to cancel a class due to low enrollment or something unforeseen, you’ll receive a full refund or a store credit, no questions asked. We don’t offer partial refunds for missed classes either (small biz realities!).

Rescheduling Policy

We get it - life happens and plans change. Just let us know ahead of time, and we’ll do our best to help. Here's how it works:

Multi-Week, Kid Camps & Teen Classes

We ask for a minimum of two weeks’ notice to move your booking, regardless of when you signed up.

Taster Classes & Single Session Workshops

  • 72+ hours in advance? We’ll happily reschedule you, no problem.
  • 24–72 hours out? You’ll get 50% credit toward a new date.
  • Less than 24 hours? We love you, but we can’t offer a refund or store credit.

Make-up Class Policy

Got that bugger flu going around? Or forgot about your dentist appointment you’ve been putting off for months? We totally understand - things come up! While we’ll do our best to help, here’s what’s possible:

6-8 Multi-Week Classes

We’ll try to offer one make-up per session if you give us at least 48 hours’ notice. That said, we can’t always guarantee a spot.

Missed one of the final three classes? Unfortunately, rescheduling isn’t possible due to firing and finishing timelines.

Also - heads up! No new pieces can be started after the second-last class, unless you're already registered for the next session (yay!).

Make-ups don’t roll over to future sessions.

2-5 Multi-Week Classes

These shorter sessions move fast, which means we’re not able to offer make-up classes or partial refunds for missed dates.

Taster Classes & Single Sessions

We don’t offer make-up sessions for single classes because, well, there’s only one! If something comes up and you need to reschedule, check out our “Rescheduling Policy” for all the details.

Kids Camp & Teen Classes

We’re not able to offer make-ups for these ones either, but we promise your kiddos will still have a great time in every session they do attend.

Privacy Policy

We know privacy policies can be a snooze. So here’s ours, minus the legal jargon. If you ever have questions, just reach out - we’re real humans over here.

What We Collect

We collect only what we need to keep things running smoothly. That might include:

  • Your name, email, and contact info when you sign up or get in touch
  • Details like shipping addresses or order history when you make a purchase
  • Cookies (the digital kind, sadly) to make our site work better for you

Why We Collect It

So we can:

  • Process your orders
  • Get in touch about your account or questions
  • Send you class information, updates, promotions, or pottery-related goodness (you can always unsubscribe)
  • Keep the site safe and running smoothly

Who We Share It With

Nobody weird. Just trusted partners like:

  • Shopify (who powers our site)
  • Payment processors (so you can check out securely)

That’s the gist. No selling, no sketchy stuff.

But if you’ve scrolled this far and still have questions (or just really love reading privacy policies), we’re happy to chat. Just email us at info@parkdalepottery.ca and we’ll be in touch.

Terms of Service

Overview

You’ve found us (yay)! Whether you're booking a class, eyeing some pottery, or just snooping around (we support that), we’re happy you’re here.

This website is run by Parkdale Pottery Inc. (that’s us!). By visiting our site or buying something from our online shop, you’re agreeing to our Terms of Service - a set of guidelines that help keep things running smoothly for everyone involved.

We may update our offerings, website, or policies every now and then. If we do, we’ll post the updates here (in this drop-down menu). By continuing to use the site, you’re agreeing to whatever changes we’ve made, so it’s worth checking back once in a while.

Our online shop is powered by Shopify, which helps us securely process orders and payments so you can browse and book with confidence.

Section 1: General Conditions

We're all about keeping things smooth and respectful - for you, for us, and for the community we’ve built together. So here’s the deal:

  • We reserve the right to say “no thanks” to anyone misusing the space - online or in person.
  • We don’t store your payment information (which you can read more about further down). All payments are processed through Shopify, which means your info stays safe and secure while you shop, browse, or book.
  • Please don’t copy, reproduce, or reuse anything from our website or studio without asking. We love that you love what we do -  just reach out first if you'd like to share it. We’re nice (just ask)!

Heads-up: our headings are just there to make this easier to read. They don’t change the meaning of the nitty-gritty.

Section 2: Online Store Terms

Let’s keep it simple and keep things kind:

  • You gotta be a grown-up (or have a grown-up’s blessing) to use this site.
  • No funny business - no breaking the law, no copyright violations, and definitely no viruses or malicious code.
  • If these rules get broken, we may have to end your access to the site (which we’d really rather not do).

Basically: be cool, and we’ll be cool too.

Section 3: Accuracy, Completeness, and Timelines of Information

We do our best to keep things current, clear, and helpful - but we’re a small team juggling a lot of things. Sometimes, things shift and the info on our website might not be 100% up to the minute.

We also sometimes leave past events, past classes, or other info up for reference - just know that what you’re seeing might not be current unless otherwise noted.

Section 4: Modifications To Services and Prices

We’re potters - so we know change is part of the process. Have you ever opened a kiln and found exactly what you expected? Yeah, us neither.

Prices, classes, and offerings may shift from time to time. We might update a product, or revise pricing, and while we try to give you a heads up, sometimes these changes happen without notice.

We promise we’re doing it to keep the studio flowing smoothly and sustainably - not to keep you on your toes!

Section 5: Accuracy of Billing and Account Information

When placing an order, make sure your info is up to date (like your billing address, email, and payment details). That way we can confirm your order without any hiccups.

We may need to limit or cancel orders sometimes. We’re a small studio, not Amazon - so if we notice something unusual, we might need to pause things and reach out before continuing. We’ll always do our best to contact you first if something looks off.

Oh, and one more thing - We’re not able to fulfill bulk orders or purchases made for resale. Our offerings are for individual makers, students, and clay-lovers - not distributors.

Section 6: Optional Tools

You might bump into some tools on our site that aren’t made by us - maybe a snazzy calendar, a checkout add-on, or something techy behind the scenes. We include them to make things smoother, but just so you know:

  • These tools are third-party, which means we don’t run them, update them, or fix them if they break.
  • We offer them as-is, no bells, whistles, or promises.
  • If you choose to use them, make sure you read and agree to their terms too.

We’re always looking to improve your experience, so if we roll out anything new on the website, it’ll also follow the same conditions behind these Terms.

Section 7: Third-Party Links

Sometimes we link to other sites we think you’ll find helpful or inspiring -  maybe a cool glaze tool, a kiln tip, or a community event. That said, you’re leaving our studio bubble.

That link might take you to another website run by someone else and that means you’re subject to their terms and privacy practices. We’re not responsible for what happens on third-party sites. We don’t control their content, policies, or checkout processes (even if we really like their clay tools).

Buying something from another site? Be sure to check their terms and refund policy before you click “confirm.” If anything goes sideways, you’ll need to reach out to them directly - they’re the boss of their shop, not us.

Section 8: User Comments, Feedback and Other Submissions

Whether you’re sending us an idea, tagging us in your stories, submitting something for a contest, or just sharing a suggestion (thank you), we love hearing from our community!

By sending us something (email, DM, comment, or mail), you’re giving us permission to use it. That might mean sharing it on social media, putting it in our newsletter, or including it in studio promotions. We’ll always aim to give credit where credit’s due, but we’re not able to offer payment or guarantee a response to every message.

A quick note on respect - we ask that your messages be kind, honest, and respectful of others’ work and rights. Please don’t send anything harmful, hateful, spammy, or sketchy. If it’s unlawful or offensive, we may remove it or report it.

We trust that you’re being yourself when you reach out, and not impersonating someone else. If you’ve got something to say, we’d love to hear it -  just keep it real.

Section 9: Personal Information

We’re potters, not data hoarders.

When you shop with us or book a class, you’re trusting us with your personal details. That trust means a lot. We collect just enough info to get you what you need and that’s it. We handle it safely and responsibly, in line with our “Privacy Policy”. No funny business, no spam, no selling your email to weird third parties.

Section 10: Photography Policy

We love showing off the beautiful things made in our studio and that sometimes means snapping a few photos. If you’re taking a class with us, here’s what that means:

Monthly Photography Sessions
Once a month, we take photos around the studio to share on our social media, in newsletters, and on our website. These might include shots of pieces on shelves, in the kiln, or waiting to be glazed.

Member Features
Sometimes we spotlight specific students or makers and their work. If we’d like to feature your pieces, we’ll check in with you first to get the go-ahead.

Giving Credit Where It’s Due
We always try to tag and credit the artists behind the work. If we ever miss something, send us a quick message and we’ll update it right away. Want a copy of a photo with your piece in it? Just ask - we’re happy to share!

We Share This Space
In a communal studio, it’s tough to keep individual pieces out of every frame. While we can’t promise your work won’t be photographed, we always aim to be respectful and thoughtful about how we use those images.

By taking part in our classes, you’re agreeing to this photography policy. If you have any concerns, just let us know - we’re always happy to chat!

Section 11: Errors, Inaccuracies, and Omissions

We try to keep all our class listings, product descriptions, and prices error-free. But hey - we’re human, and occasionally a typo or outdated bit of info might sneak in.

If something on our site (like a product description, price, or class listing) isn’t quite right, we reserve the right to fix it. That might mean adjusting info or even cancelling an order if it was based on incorrect details. If that ever happens, we’ll let you know ASAP.

You might also notice that not everything on our site is updated in real-time. If something looks odd, reach out! We’d rather clear up a question than leave you guessing.

Section 12: Prohibited Uses

To keep things running smoothly (and legally), we ask that you please don’t:

  • Break any laws or encourage others to do so
  • Post anything hateful, harmful, discriminatory, or just plain mean
  • Mess with our website or try to hack it (yes, that includes uploading viruses)
  • Steal our content or copy/paste our site to make your own
  • Pretend to be someone you're not
  • Spam, scam, or scheme in any way
Use our site for anything shady or harmful to others

Basically, play nice and respect the space - online and in real life. We take care of our community - if someone breaks these rules, we reserve the right to remove access to our site or services. No drama, just boundaries.

Section 13: Disclaimer of Warranties; Limitation of Liability

We put a lot of care into what we offer, but we’re still a small team, not a big tech company. That means:

  • We can’t promise that our website or services will always be perfect, uninterrupted, or error-free (we wish we could).
  • If we need to make changes, pause, or take something offline, we might not always be able to give notice.
  • When you use our website or services, you're doing so at your own discretion and risk. Everything we offer is “as is” and “as available.”

By using our site, you agree that you’re doing so at your own risk. If something doesn’t work the way you hoped, we’ll do what we can but we can’t be held responsible for things like lost data, time, or money. (That said, we do love a good email if you need help.)

Section 14: Indemnification

This one’s a little less fun, but here goes…

If something you do causes legal issues for Parkdale Pottery (like violating our terms or someone else’s rights), you’re agreeing to take responsibility for it,  including covering the cost of lawyers, if it comes to that.

Basically: play fair, be kind, and don’t use our services in a way that puts others (or us) at risk.

Section 15: Severability

Let’s say one of these policies doesn’t hold up - maybe it turns out a part of it isn’t enforceable for some legal reason. If that ever happens, that one bit will be set aside, but everything else still stands. The rest of our terms will keep doing their job so we can keep doing ours.

Section 16: Entire Agreement

Think of this as our studio handshake: these Terms (plus any other policies we’ve put on our website) are the whole agreement between you and us.

That means no secret clauses and no surprise fine print. If it’s not written here (or in a policy linked on our site), it’s not part of the deal.

And if there’s ever something that seems a little fuzzy or unclear? We’ll approach it with fairness and a good dollop of common sense. Just because we don’t act on a rule right away doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten it - sometimes we’re just being generous.

Section 17: Governing Law

Because we’re a Canadian studio through and through, these Terms and any agreements we make follow Canadian law. It’s just one of the ways we keep everything running smoothly and fairly.

Section 18: Changes to the Terms of Service

We’re always making little improvements - in the studio and in our policies. When that happens, we’ll update these Terms of Service right here on our site.

The newest version will always live here on our website, so feel free to pop back and take a look whenever you like.

By continuing to use our site or services after any updates, you’re agreeing to the new terms - easy as that!

Section 19: Contact Information

Wow, you’re at the bottom of our Terms of Service page - you deserve a gold star for that! ⭐ Maybe writing this wasn’t a waste of time after all…

We know this stuff isn’t exactly thrilling. But your trust matters to us.

Still got questions? Let’s chat. You can reach us anytime at info@parkdalepottery.ca. Bonus points if your email includes a pottery pun.
